Company Brief

In 1966, Budyanto Totong and his 3 older brothers Totong Kurniawan, Darmawan Putra Totong and Eka Santosa opened a small  paint shop in Jalan Gajah Mada No. 56, West Jakarta.  They called this shop “Toko Tjat Sentosa”. The brothers started by marketing  paint products and building materials and developed variety in their products.

In 1970, Toko Tjat Sentosa moved to a bigger location, which now became our head office. This move has opened more opportunities for Budyanto Totong and his brothers to expand the business. This marked the beginning of the expansion of the building materials business--from merely selling, into marketing and distribution.

With the rapid growth of the Company’s distribution business, the need for a modern and strategic management became vital.  This led to the establishment of PT Catur Sentosa Adiprana (CSAP) in December 1983. Toko Tjat Sentosa became the leading distributor  of paint and building materials which also espoused  itself with best management practices.  

Today, the vision that Budyanto Totong had with his brothers has become a reality. CSAP  is a publicly-listed firm with 32 branches, more than 4,000 employees, distributes 40 brands and sells more than 25,000 products items trough Mitra10. To strengthen its product base, the company  has collaboration with 24 major principals and  300 suppliers, both local and international, representing major brands and top-of-the-line products.  Further, the Company’s distribution of building materials, chemical products and modern retail of building materials with extensive network has extended its reach throughout Indonesia.

In 1997, Totong’s family has pioneered the modern retail supermarket business of building materials by introducing in Indonesia MITRA10.

With continuous growth and development of  the businesses, the Company has strengthened its equity structure through Initial Public Offering (IPO). CSAP became a member of  the Indonesia Stock Exchange and was listed on December 12, 2007.
